5 Steps to Plan Your Own Work & Wellness Reset (Even If You’re Short on Time!)
Running a business while balancing motherhood is no easy task. Between client calls, tight deadlines, and the constant demands of home life, finding time for uninterrupted work feels nearly impossible. The truth is, you don’t need to work harder—you need a strategic reset.
A Work & Wellness Reset is a curated getaway designed to provide the clarity, productivity, and energy needed to thrive as a mompreneur. And the best part? You don’t have to wait for the “perfect time” to make it happen. You can plan your reset now, and here’s exactly how to do it in just five simple steps.
Step 1: Choose the Right Location
To make your reset effective, you need to step away from your daily routine. The location is key to your reset’s success. Choose a space that allows for both work and wellness, so you can balance productivity with relaxation.
A luxury hotel with a quiet, work-friendly environment.
A cozy Airbnb with a designated workspace and minimal distractions.
A wellness retreat or spa hotel that blends productivity with relaxation.
Pro Tip: Ensure your location has fast Wi-Fi, a comfortable work setup, and amenities like room service or a spa for the ultimate recharge.
Step 2: Set Your Intentions & Goals
Your reset isn’t just a break—it’s an opportunity to refocus and strategize. Before you go, take a moment to reflect on your goals. Ask yourself:
What do I want to accomplish during my reset? (e.g., content batching, business planning, financial strategy)
How do I want to feel when I return? (e.g., clear-headed, motivated, recharged)
Write down 3-5 key goals for your reset to stay intentional and productive.
Pro Tip: Avoid vague goals like “catch up on work.” Instead, set focused, high-impact goals, such as “outline next quarter’s launch plan” or “write 4 weeks of blog posts.”
Step 3: Structure Your Time for Maximum Impact
To get the most out of your reset, structure your time with focused work and intentional self-care. Here’s a simple schedule to follow:
Morning: Intentional planning and strategy work.
Afternoon: Focused work session (e.g., content batching, emails, goal mapping).
Evening: Relaxation—whether it’s a spa treatment, journaling, or simply enjoying some quiet time.
Pro Tip: Set clear time blocks and remove distractions by turning off notifications and setting an out-of-office reply. This is your time to focus—don’t let anything get in the way.
Step 4: Pack Smart for Productivity & Self-Care
Bringing the right essentials will help you stay focused and refreshed during your reset. Pack the following:
Business essentials: Laptop, planner, noise-canceling headphones, and chargers.
Wellness essentials: Comfortable clothes, your favorite tea or coffee, essential oils, and a journal.
Bonus: A book that inspires you—whether it’s about business, mindset, or just a good read.
Snacks: Keep your energy up with protein bars, nuts, dark chocolate, or your favorite treats.
Pro Tip: Pack as though you’re the CEO of your own business—bring items that make you feel both productive and recharged.
Step 5: Book It & Commit to Going
The hardest part? Committing to the reset and actually scheduling it.
Pick a date within the next 30 days, or schedule it as your quarterly reset—just like you would for a company strategy session.
Book your stay and any spa treatments. After working hard on your business, reward yourself with relaxation to reset.
Let your family or team know you’ll be unavailable during your reset.
Pro Tip: If mom guilt creeps in, remind yourself that a recharged, focused YOU is better for everyone—your business and your family. When you return, you’ll be more present with your family and more strategic in your business, leaving behind the feeling of being pulled in multiple directions.
